The Esalen® Massage is a full body oil massage and has been developed over the last 30 years at the Esalen® Institute in Big Sur, California. Many clients describe it as more mindful, caring and holistic than many other types of massage. Unique to the Esalen® Massage are the long, slow wave-like strokes, at times releasing deeply held tensions and at times soft, sensual and gently relaxing. The powerful healing effect of these top-to-toe strokes is further enhanced by the application of passive stretching, gentle rocking of the body, joint release and deep tissue massage. To experience this full range of Esalen® Massage techniques all combined within one session is to experience one of the finest massages you can have; deeply relaxing, healing and nurturing –physically and emotionally.
A special pleasure is to combine the Esalen® Massage with the application of the wonderful Calamus powder as this creates an additional, extremely comforting exfoliating effect on your skin.
Please note, that your Esalen® Massage under the umbrella of being.moved will be given only by an officially trained and certified Esalen® practitioner.
